Trump has called for companies to build more products in the United States and open additional plants. He has made several announcements since his election in November about US investments by both foreign and domestic manufacturers, building on his campaign focus on boosting American jobs. Some of those announcements sought to take credit for previously announced investments.
Trump's words came as his National Security Adviser John Bolton was heading to Russia on Saturday, who has been reported to tell Russian leaders about US plan to exit the landmark deal.
Trudeau also said his country will continue trade talks with China.
Trump's eye-opener visit to China
Trump has said tariffs are needed to protect US companies from what he sees as unfair competition abroad. In October, the US had a .2 billion trade surplus with Brazil and a .7 billion trade surplus with South and Central America as a whole, US government statistics show.
Trump also announced on Tuesday that he will take part in the second presidential debate in Miami on Oct 15 against his Democratic challenger Joe Biden. However, Biden said that the second debate should not be held if Trump still tests positive for the virus.

Treasury bond issuance stood at 150 billion yuan, while local government bond issuance was worth 624.5 billion yuan, according to the People's Bank of China.
Trump said that "workers who come to our country through the legal admissions process, including those working on farms, ranches, and in other businesses, will be allowed easy passage".
Trump himself has threatened to pull the US out of the Paris Agreement during his presidential campaign.
Trump also said the administration would ask the Small Business Administration to aid small businesses, while working with companies in the airline and cruise industries to deal with the impact of COVID-19.
