Wang is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the 19th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Premier of the State Council and a member of its Leading Party Members Group.

Wang also pledged to connect China's Belt and Road Initiative with the AU's Agenda 2063, the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the development strategies of individual African countries to help them develop and to ultimately eliminate the conflicts.
Wang said that since the project to modernize the Belgrade-Budapest railway was initially agreed on at the 2013 China-CEEC leaders' meeting in Bucharest, China and Serbia have carried out close cooperation.
Wang said all the achievements made have testified to China and ASEAN having the wisdom and ability to properly manage disputes, formulate a set of regional rules that all recognize and preserve peace and stability in the South China Sea.
