The minister argued that both Britain and China should recognize the value of globalization as already reflected in the record levels of Britain-China trade ties, with British exports to China growing by over 25 percent last year alone.

The ministry also added 63 product categories to the list of duty-free goods that might be available on cross-border e-commerce platforms. Most of these are popular high-end consumer products, such as sparkling wine, beer made from malt and fitness equipment.
The ministry also pledged to enhance controls on debt financing by the country's centrally administered State-owned enterprises, as some of them provided local governments the money the SOEs had borrowed from banks.

The ministry also signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday with six multilateral development financial institutions-including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank-to strengthen financing coordination for the Belt and Road Initiative.
