He pointed out that this year is the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. Over the past 40 years, China’s economic and social outlook has undergone tremendous changes, and the living standards of Chinese people have been greatly enhanced.
He said China is determined to advance the national security legislation for Hong Kong, and urged the G-7 nations to stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs.
He quoted a report from the market research agency IHS Markit that in the first year after the telecom standards were frozen, four 5G chipsets are unveiled in the global telecom sector and over 40 5G smartphones are expected to be available, but none 4G chipsets and 4G smartphones had been unveiled within a year after its standards were finalized. Also globally, more than 100,000 5G base stations are expected to be shipped, compared with just 400 4G base stations shipped during the same time frame.
He pointed out that in 2017 alone, 70 percent of China's petroleum was imported, which he said was not a reasonable level.
He promised that his government is willing to help the provinces and territories in the country increase their testing and contact tracing capabilities against the COVID-19.
He praised China's plans to encourage new and high-tech businesses to drive the country's economy.

He pointed to the lockdown of Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, as well as strict stay-at-home measures, as important steps in helping China shut down the outbreak in the country.
He said companies planning to invest in those industries should be cautious.
He said many countries - India, Brazil and South Africa, for example - have laws on biodiversity protection, and some have enacted laws on genetic resources protection.
He said that "means it was in the wild to begin with. That's why I don't get what they're talking about [and] why I don't spend a lot of time going in on this circular argument".
